FREE Snowman Craftivity – Holiday fun for Pre-K and Kindergarten – Christmas / Winter themed

Here’s a great snowman activity, that can be used in three different ways, to best suit the needs of your classroom or homeschool. You can use it as a cut and paste activity, as a coloring/craft activity, or laminate and use it as a snowman building and following directions activity. Included is an adorable snowman activity sheet, different accessories to dress him in, carrot noses, coal mouths and buttons for his belly.

Your students will love this fun Christmas activity! Hide each of these twelve numbered elves around your classroom. Students use the recording sheet to tell where they find each elf.

Older students will enjoy keeping the hiding places a secret for a few days or even the whole week. Another option is to play the game in one session, possibly at your class holiday party.

Two recording sheets are provided, one that requires more writing for older students and one in which students simply circle the elves they have found.

There are 16 task cards in all (8 addition and 8 subtraction) with sums up to 20. There are also 8 blank cards (4 addition & 4 subtraction) for you to use to fill in the blank number to create your own. You can use these in a center or on an individual basis.

Colored Number Mats with numbers 1-20 for children to work on one to one correspondence and number recognition. You would also use the marshmallow manipulatives here as well.

Counting Center- 4 different tasks/choices to order number cards. Center Sign Included.

Students will play this game in groups of two to four. The goal of the game is to collect all the parts of the snowman before the other players by reading the sight words correctly on each card drawn from the pile. The sight words included in this game are the second grade Dolch words. At the end of the game, students will record the sight words they have in their hands on the recording sheet. This game would be great in a literacy center or for review in a small group setting.

Come Little Leaves is a writing activity for beginning writers. In this activity, the students learn two lines from a rhyme, Come Little Leaves written by George Cooper in the early 1900’s. Once they learn the rhyme, two words from the rhyme are removed and the students replace them with words of their choosing. They then fill in the blanks with their replacement words and illustrate their new rhyme. Even though this activity uses a rhyme, it is not a rhyming activity, as the students are not necessarily choosing rhyming words to fill in the blanks. It is, however, a chance for them to use their imaginations and hone some beginning writing and thinking skills. Once the replacement words are chosen, the students then illustrate their “new” version of the rhyme. I hope you and your students have fun with this little activity. Richi Reynolds

After completing the turkey, students write about their turkey. There are 3 levels of writing activities and paper included as well as word wall words to aid in spelling. I have also included turkey story starter ideas for Levels 2 and 3.

This FREE “Easy-Art” lesson plan provides the children with a fun cut and paste holiday activity. The directions are basic, can be done as quiet seat work, and provide small muscle development and exercise.

A great follow-up activity is to have the children write or tell a story about their “tall turkey”. (Choice based on age of group doing the project.) Please take time to rate this product…thanks!

This “Feasting on Subtraction Facts” center is a great way for your students to practice basic subtraction facts with some Thanksgiving fun graphics. Need an auditory memory activity that will be fun and engaging? This no prep digital Boom Cards brain exercise activity is perfect for practicing listening and thinking skills and developing auditory memory! Your kiddos will be able to practice shapes and colours while listening to and remembering instructions which they will need to follow.

This mind game activity can be used for distance or hybrid learning – or face to face teaching!

How this Auditory Memory Activity works:

  • Students will be given an auditory instruction, telling them to put something in a basket.
  • The students then move to the next card and need to drag a shape into the basket that fits the description in the instruction they were given.
  • Initially they are told either what shape OR what color item to put in the basket. They can choose any item that fits the instruction they have been given. The students are required to remember only one thing – EITHER a shape OR a colour.
  • In the last question the instructions become more specific – they get told the shape AND color of the item they must put in the basket. There will now only be one possible correct item for them to place in the basket. The difficulty increases as the students are now required to remember two things – BOTH a shape AND a colour.
  • In this level, students are only expected to remember one item that they must place in the basket.

This fun Brain Development Activity includes:

  • 9 Boom Cards altogether
  • 1 instruction card
  • 4 cards with auditory instructions that students will need to follow on the next card.
  • 4 cards for students to carry out the instructions they received on the previous card
  • Interactive drag and drop format
  • Boom Cards are self-checking and students get instant feedback!

This adorable book is perfect for fall in the school library or classroom, and your students will enjoy completing these fall-themed activities after you read the story together.

This pack of resources includes several activities for primary learners:

-a page in which students will alphabetize words from the book

-a page in which students will color code leaves based on whether they contain a word that rhymes with the word “leaf”

-a page for students to count leaves in 10-frames and determine how many more leaves they would need to make a total of 10
