FREE LANGUAGE ARTS LESSON – “Sight Words Activity & Bulletin Board {FREE}”

by Fun Hands-on Learning

Pre-Kindergarten – 1st Grade

Teaching sight words along side phonics helps give students a firm foundation in both phonetic reading and whole-language. I focus most of our reading practice on phonics, but I do enjoy paring up sight word exercises to help build fluency. In this activity, students will practice pre-primer sight words. Students will trace a sight word fish every time they learn a new one, and add it to their fishing pond. You can do this on a wall, bulletin-board, or even just keep them all together in a bag and pull them out as you are learning. Make two copies of the sight word fish and you can play a sight-word memory/matching game too!
