Digital ELA Morning Work 2nd Grade Google™ Slides Week 18

Are you ready to give morning work or {daily language} that is fun and engaging? I have taken my popular morning work and created GOOGLE™ Slides from it.

This set is divided among 5 days (50 task cards). Each day is color-coded and consists of 10 cards with some cards having multiple problems on the task card.

The first page is the menu and will help students navigate to get to the correct day for that week. Once a student finishes the last task card for the day, they will automatically be taken back to the menu.

Each month concentrates on certain skills that also spiral throughout the month (and month to month). I used these with my students last year and it was amazing to see their growth. Each month progressively gets more challenging and works on skills that 2nd graders need to know.

Language Board Games. Grab this set of 10 FREE, one-page language game boards! Just PRINT AND PLAY! Each game covers one of the following topics: fruits, vegetables, foods, school, pets, daily routines, landforms/places, buildings, hobbies, and body parts. Focus on: foreign language practice (Spanish, Mandarin, French, German), English language practice, speech and language skills, sentence formation, turn taking, and more!

DIRECTIONS: Add game pieces and one die. On your turn, roll. When you land on an item, you can: 1) name the action/object or 2) use it in a sentence. The first person to make it to “FINISH” wins!

The games are purposefully open-ended, allowing teachers to focus on skills that students need. For example, I created these games to use at home with my children as they study Mandarin. My younger son uses the games for learning basic vocabulary. My older children must use the actions/objects in a sentence.

***The boards are in color to make them more appealing to students. However, if you open the file with ADOBE READER, you can print them in grayscale to save ink. Just open the “Print” window and check the box labeled “Print in grayscale” in the top center.***

Mail is a lost art. We have email and cell phones and we can pretty much get in touch with anyone in the world — quickly! There used to be a time when biplanes and helicopters did “mail drops” and let a bag of mail get dropped out of aplane to a group of people away from the post office. Camps have done this, missionary groups have experienced it, but probably the most common is the military!

There are missionaries who are working hard in another country who may feel rather alone sometimes – and far away from home. Write them a letter and tell give them some encouragement! They will be THRILLED to hear from someone in their church – especially a student who cared enough to send them a hand-written letter!

This centre is a product of The Scripture Scout’s SLEUTH FOR THE TRUTH curriculum. There may be a small number or numbers (1, 2, 3, or 4) on the main pages. These show the quarter(s) where the game could be used the most if you are using the Sleuth for the Truth lesson plans.
