Anti-racism is a topic I am passionate about and it needs to be discussed in classrooms. What is BOOM the ROOM?!

It’s like “Write the Room”…

WIth digital, self-checking, data-collecting components.

(Makes Write the Room seem so yesterday, right?!) Your kiddos get moving and you have reports to show their learning.

How does Boom the Room work?

Print the task cards on white or colorful paper. (They are b/w for simplicity and savings.) Post the task cards around your room. You can put them in random locations every time.

OR

Print the free BOOM the ROOM posters found HERE. Laminate the posters.

Students will know where to look every time for the corresponding numbers on the Boom card deck.

Once you’ve posted the task cards, assign the corresponding Boom card deck to your students. This is your chance to differentiate by assigning different card decks to different groups.

Students will move around the room to complete the Boom card decks.

The decks will automatically randomize with each play so you can assign the decks over and over again to achieve fluency or mastery.

Students can give a designated signal to ask for help. This will allow you to provide targeted support and instruction. BOOM!

This FREE printable helps kiddos practice counting objects using fruit! This is great for learning counting and one-to-one correspondence, as well as practicing fine motor control and handwriting. If your child isn’t quite ready to write numbers on their own, feel free to write the numbers for them after they do the counting. This still will help with mastering number recognition!

Sometimes activities like this are tricky for littles because the items are mixed up instead of in an orderly pattern. But counting in every context is important to learn! To help your kids clear away some of the chaos, I like to use plastic counters to cover the fruit they’ve already counted, or for kids just starting out, cover all the apples and oranges with the counters and just leave the bananas to count, and so on. It will still give them practice counting with a disorderly pattern, but you can start with the easiest stage and work your way up!

Your students will build confidence in their writing skills while working independently on these ready-to-go writing prompt activities with built in word lists. Save time and money by downloading this product you will reuse year after year.

This word wall writing prompt activity is free for the month of March only! I would love your feedback on this product!

This literacy center includes

1. Nine writing prompts pages and over 250 word wall words grouped into:

Sports, Feelings, People, Camping, Food, Days of the Week, Months, Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter, School, Places, Colors, Ordinal Numbers, Wild Animals, Farm Animals, Shapes, and Party Words.

2. A “My Favorite Words” page where students can record words they like to use often and need help spelling.

3. NIne fun pages with writing prompts (including an “About Me” cutting, pasting, and writing activity. This 2 page “About Me” activity is also offered as a freebie here.)

The “prompts” pages have pictures on the top that coordinate to the

pictures on the word cards. This will help students know which card to look for if they’re “stumped” for a word.

The mini word wall cards can be printed out on cardstock, cut in half, laminated, and put on a ring for easy reference for students during writing activities.

You may want to print them on colored cardstock to add visual appeal. (I’ve kept color to a minimum to save printer ink.)

You could make up several of these “rings” and pass them around during writing, or keep them at a designated Writing Center along with the Writing Prompts pages.

Are your students struggling to know the difference between a lowercase b and a lowercase d? Here is a new strategy to help them remember this tricky letter reversal.

Have students correspond each finger to a letter: a, b, c, d, or e. Students can then visualize the “stick” for either the ‘b’ or ‘d,’ and then see which direction on their hand they have space to make the circle.

We played as part of our Camp-Out day and review basic math facts and a few other concepts (greater/less than, skip counting, place value). I was able to find small sets of the wooden blocks at the dollar store.

This package consists of 3 STYLES OF PEN CLIP ART that are made into little people pen pal cartoons. I want to introduce a pen pal program with my KG’s this year where we use mailboxes and the kids write to each other so I created these to use on the stationary I am planning to use for this and wanted to share. I hope you can find a use for these little pens as well.

There are 3 styles and each style comes in 5 colours and each colour comes in light skin and dark skin to maintain multiculturalism and diversity. So all together there are 33 pen clip art images in this file.
