As an elementary math teacher, multiplication facts have always been a source of concern. A deep understanding of multiplication is essential for students, but there is also a need for memorization of multiplication facts.

Many existing online programs create unnecessary stress for students. Several children, especially the ones who struggle with memorization and/or anxiety, appear to become frustrated by the timed aspect of the quizzes.

Some of these programs do not provide the support needed for struggling students, even with ample practice time in class. While all students can certainly learn and improve, some students may need alternative strategies and approaches, rather than solely focusing on memorization.

This digital multiplication program provides an alternative solution. It can be used along with any of your favorite existing resources or math curriculum. How you implement this program will depend on your students and their needs.

This program is broken into 5 parts. Each day of the week students will complete a different task based on the math facts they are currently practicing.

Designed to help 3rd grade students exercise multi-step math problem solving, reasoning, critical thinking, and precise math modeling skills. The 8 digital math word problem solving task cards included in this resource are formatted on Google Slides, and ready for you to add as an assignment to Google Classroom, making them the perfect resource for distance learning.

The focus of the tasks in this collection is on third grade multiplication concepts. While solving these complex word problems, students will practice their ability to:

  • Use the commutative property of multiplication, associative property of multiplication, and distributive property of multiplication to solve multiplication equations and justify their accuracy.
  • Represent multiplication problems using equations with a letter standing for the unknown quantity.
  • Determine the unknown whole number in a multiplication equation relating three whole numbers.
  • Use multiplication within 100 to solve word problems.

Your students will have so much fun with this digital memory matching game for practicing recognition of fractions. Perfect for Distance Learning or paperless learning in class! The different difficulty levels allow for easy differentiated learning. This fun math game is a digital resource, so there is no printing required.

In this FREEBIE your students will need to match fraction circles to symbols for fractions ranging from halves to fifths.

There are 3 difficulty levels to choose from for each version of the game:

* Easy (8 cards)

* Medium (12 cards)

* Difficult (16 cards)

The game is hosted on my website, www.colleenscosmiccollection.co.za. It is an online game and therefore requires an internet connection. Neither you nor your students will be required to create an account in order to access the game – all you need is the link, which you will receive in a pdf when you purchase this product.

How to use:

In order to allow your students to play the games, you simply need to share the link with them (through Google Classroom or via email).

Alternatively, if you wish to assign a specific difficulty level to your students, you can click on the link and then select the level by clicking on it. Once you have navigated to the correct level game, you can copy the link of that page and share it with your students.

Each page gives 6 sentences with a fill in the blank space for students to complete. There are answer options provided for students to choose from. Answer keys are also provided.

Students answer the questions and then they can color the spaces with the number that corresponds to the question they answered. They can use crayons, markers, or colored pencils.

These are a great option to send home for speech therapy students working at the 1st-3rd grade level. They look fun and low stress while still addressing multiple goals. They are also appropriate for older students functioning at a 1st – 3rd grade level who need work on fine motor skills!

This Earth Day, give your students this report card and have them evaluate how “green” their school / classroom / home is.

There are three different report cards: one for the whole school, one for the classroom, and one for the home. You could either have all students complete both the school and classroom report card, or divide your class into two groups and have one group complete the school card, and one group complete the classroom card. Students could then compare the results to see how their classroom compares to the school. Home report cards could be taken home for students to complete with their parents.
