These antonym task cards are part of my Antonym Unit.

These antonym task cards are used in work stations. There are 20 cards that practice using antonyms in 4 different forms.

These can also be used in groups of 2 or 3 kids.

Laminate them and let the students use dry erase markers to circle the answer. You can also have students write the answers on a piece of paper.

This aligns with CCSS ELA-Literacy.L.1.5, ELA-Literacy.L.2.5, and ELA-Literacy.L.3.5.

For Third and Fourth Grade Math Centers and Multi level activity! Math is ALWAYS about the questioning! Take time to ask students what they notice about the factor pairs in their sort. Ask why they think those particular products were grouped in the same sort. Ask them to find a pair of facts where one factor is double and one factor is half of the other factor pair. (Like 7 X 4 and 14 x 2) Ask them to find pairs that are 3 times greater and 3 times less. (Like 9×4 and 3×12) Are there other relationships? Find 2 different relationships. Now write YOUR OWN examples. etc… 🙂

*6 Templates (consider using also in wipe of sleeves with student generated equations)

*5 Basic Multiplication Sorts

*1 Higher Level Sort

*1 Blank Sort Template for Student Generated Sorts

*3 Follow Up Activities to Help Learners Make those Connections

These sorts move from simple facts to more sophisticated facts building on important relationships! As we learn multiplication and division, we need LOTS and LOTS of experiences considering relationships and patterns. There are 6 sorts you can use repeatedly and a blank for students to apply their understanding to make their own if you like. There are also some “exit ticket” activities to make sure students are considering the patterns and relationships we need them to appreciate!

Comparing and contrasting characters can be challenging for students.

This resource includes three graphic organisers to support students to compare and contrast the inside and outside traits of two characters drawn from much-loved picture books by two acclaimed authors:’

  • “The Thunk” by Michelle Robinson; and
  • “The Very Blue Thingamajig” by Narelle Oliver.

Students use the graphic organiser of the teacher’s choice to identify traits that make the characters unique and traits that the characters may share.

If this is a new skill for the students, teachers may choose to use the graphic organisers to model this through whole school discussion.

These FREE SHAPES task cards are perfect for morning work to practice the following shapes: TRIANGLE-CIRCLE-RECTANGLE-SQUARE. This set includes 20 cards in 3 different sizes to make your life easier (6×4, mat size, small card size)! Just print and use, or laminate and use with a dry-erase marker over and over again. This is a free resource so please be kind and rate my store. 🙂

What’s included?

TEACHER TIPS:

  • Laminate the 6×4 cards and add a dry-erase marker in a box to create a morning work box/tub.
  • Use the mat size for centers and lower levels. For example, set one table to work on a specific shape (ex. triángulo) and place the laminated mats around the table with markers in the middle of the table. Set a time to work on each table (10-15 minutes).
  • Use the smaller card size organized with a binder ring for individual or pair work. Students can work on their cards, clean them and exchange them with a partner. This card size is also great for fine-motor skills as they must solve the card in a smaller size.

Students are asked to skip count by 10s up to groups of 10.

For more advanced students, I recommend having them write a repeated addition and/or multiplication sentence to represent each question.

Teach your students about Asian Pacific Heritage Month by celebrating the accomplishments of inspirational Asian Canadians and Americans. I am Canadian and I’m of Chinese and Vietnamese descent. Anti-racism is a topic I am passionate about and it needs to be discussed in classrooms. This is a no prep slideshow about 30 extraordinary Asian individuals who have made significant contributions to North America.

This is suitable for the primary kindergarten, grade 1, grade, 2, and grade 3 classroom and EVERY other grade.

This is an easy STEM activity for elementary grades. Students will work in groups to complete the longest chain! There is a challenge sheet that clearly states the challenge; including the materials needed. There is also an engineering and design process recording sheet for groups to use when planning and improving their designs. This a sample of one of the activities in our Family STEM/ STEAM Night Package.
