FREE LANGUAGE ARTS LESSON – “Advice Letter – End of the Year Feedback Activity”

Use this free lesson to get useful feedback from your students! Have them write friendly letters giving the next year’s students advice on your class in the style of “Dear Abby.” 

With Inspired Writing, students use mentor texts as models for their own writing. This lesson provides students with inspiration from their reading of advice letters by “Dear Abby.” 

Best of all, this end of the year activity lets students share their thoughts on your class in a constructive, positive way. Use the accompanying prompt to guide students’ responses. This FREE product includes the following: explicit lesson plan with identified Common Core Standards, online links to “Dear Abby” columns and biographical information, prompt, stationary, student model, and a sample key. This has been newly updated for the end of the 2014-2015 school year.
