This is a quick introduction for parents on four different strategies for solving addition and subtraction with re-grouping – base ten blocks, using a hundreds chart, adding on a number line, and expanded form.
I’m using this to send home to parents so they can be familiar with our problem-solving strategies and help their kids – we didn’t learn this way and it’s the #1 thing parents are confused about at conferences.
