Simple investigation. Simple materials. I’ve adapted one of my favorite ecosystems investigations so that families and students can be successful completing investigations OUT of school.
Topic: Ecosystems
Activity: Observe and compare 4 microecosystems (small zones of living and nonliving things).
Overview:
Day 1: Observe four different microecosystems and draw a labeled diagram of each.
Day 2: Discuss observations and draw conclusions.
Day 3: Choice Activity
Materials:
• Hula hoop OR a long piece of string
• Outdoor area
• Observations recording page (can be printed or drawn)
