This is a set of four high-resolution photographs of petroglyphs found near Arches National Park, Utah. I guarantee that they were taken by me and that they may be used commercially without worry about violating copyright.

Due to file size of the actual photos, the thumbnails show details from the photos but not the full photo.

You may use these photographs in any product (including interactive whiteboard products) so long as you provide a link to my store (which is included in the file). I would appreciate you using the button logo (provided in the file), but it’s not required.

You may not provide this digital file to any other person. All downloads of the photographs must come from this website alone.

These word searches were made to be used with Kristen Foote’s book How to Survive as a Firefly – a fun book about the life cycle of a firefly.

A lower primary (easier) word search is included as well as an upper primary (more challenging) word search featuring lots of great vocabulary terms.

If you have trouble “surviving” the word search, answer keys are included. 😉

Every year I have a few students who have trouble answering comprehension questions. I found that it is mostly because they don’t understand the first word of the question (or they went too fast and didn’t pay attention to it!) I’ve spent a lot of time this year discussing what type of answers they should have for a ‘who’ question, ‘where’ question, etc. I created a few posters to help my kids and wanted to share them in case someone needed help with the same thing! We talk about if the ? starts with ‘Who’, then their answer will be a person or character. I’ve also been having them write their answers to EVERYTHING using complete sentences. I’ve taught them how to use the question to make their answers. This has also helped them answer questions correctly. I’ve included two worksheets for this at the end. Getting Your Students to Follow Directions by Taking a Funny Test

If your students are anything like my students, then they have a hard time following directions.

So I created this funny little test on following directions.

There are 30 tasks that they must do…but if they read correctly, then they really only have a couple of tasks to do.

● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ●
What happens in my classroom is that one or two students actually read and follow the directions correctly, while the rest of the students are doing funny things like yelling, “Old MacDonald had a farm” and standing up and turning around. The students who followed the directions are laughing hysterically at the other students.

It is so much fun! It also really enforces the importance of following directions.

Equivalent Expressions Partnering Cards:
(part of the Equivalent Expressions Mini-Bundle)

These partnering cards are a quick way for students to pair up, while also practicing identifying equivalent expressions. Great for review throughout the year! (They could also be used as a matching game!)

There are 18 sets of cards, so they can be used with classes of up to 36 students. There is a set with a background and a set without, to give you an option when you print.

I would recommend printing on card stock and laminating (although I cut them out and glued them to index cards the first time I used them:) – I needed to use them before I could laminate!)
