Directions:
Cut apart the number searches so each student gets one-fourth of the page.

Choose a number you want students to find addends for. Write this number in the blank center box. Students can find addends vertically, horizontally or diagonally. (I usually keep the middle number between 6 and 20.)

You can give each student a different number search (to discourage copying) OR you can give each student the same number search to encourage collaboration (or competition!)

You can also give different students different numbers in the blank middle box to meet their developmental level.

Money is a somewhat difficult task for young children to identify. For a young child, all coins seemingly look alike and are hard to identify and from their perspective a coin is quite small. The Federal Reserve has changed the appearance of coins numerous times on the front and back.

This is a quick 5 problem hand out. Students are given 5 problems that have two points listed. The student will find the equation of the line, then plot the two points listed and draw a line connecting their dots. This will form the shape of a heart. Students who finish this quickly can color in the heart and/or their paper. I like to display them for Valentine’s Day.

An answer key with each problem worked out is included!

Welcome to my store! I wanted to share a free resource that I created as a digital activity for my students.

A robot has infiltrated their assignment and students need to solve addition and subtraction problems to solve the sequencer that will shut it down! This activity also reviews place value in order to solve the sequence.

The great thing about this activity is that it auto-grades. If the cells where they input their answers turn green, then they got it correct! If they type in the correct sequence of digits, then the “false” message will be replaced by something else!

It can be attached to Google Classroom or Schoology as a Google Sheets assignment.

Kindergarten – 2nd Grade

Cut out the reindeer number sentence cards, laminate for durability and place them around your room. Give each child a recording sheet and let them get some wiggles out while also being productive and practicing their math skills!

There are 2 different levels included. The first group of reindeer can be used for “Adding Doubles and 0” and the second group is for
“adding 1” to help accommodate different learning levels.

This FREE star themed activity is great to use any time of the year, but is perfect for the Christmas/Chanukah/Kwanzaa season.

Students will rearrange equations into slope-intercept form (solve for y in terms of x). Then they will identify the slope or y-intercept.

Make practice more fun with this eight question self-checking activity!

An answer key is included along with an optional student outline for showing work.

The download includes both color and black-and-white copies of the worksheet.

In Math, I feel repetition, reflection, and thinking about their own thinking is extremely important. I think they need a constant spiral of the concepts we want them to master. I LOVE my kids and I LOVE Math, so I hope that shines through this product.
You may use this product in many different ways, but I will tell you how I plan to use it to give you an idea. Every morning my kids have jobs to do when they first get here. The morning can be a crazy time with them going to breakfast, settling in, ordering lunch, etc. These jobs get them in the groove pretty quickly. One of their jobs in the morning will be to get out their Common Core Math Journals. I put the whole month in a 3 ring binder. In the morning they flip to the page they need to do for that day. When we have done all the days in that month, I pull it out, staple it and send it home. Then, I’ll put the next month in.
I’ve been to a few workshops on Math that really stress the importance of reflection after a lesson. So, that’s why I included the bottom part. My kiddos do the top part in the morning and then after Math is done, they pull out their Math journals and write in their reflection for the day. I don’t know if it’s the top part or the reflection part, or a combo of both, but my kids are better at Math and retaining information better than EVER! I hope you see this to through the use of this product!
