This freebie has a Thanksgiving word wall and two writing pages that can be copied 2-sided for students to write a Thanksgiving-themed story. The word wall is great for them to refer to for spelling and/or ideas. Could be used whole group or in a center. Word wall can be displayed in a transparent sign or stapled to the writing sheet so each child can have their individual word wall.

This 19-question multiple-choice reading comprehension and analysis test on the poem “Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout Would Not Take the Garbage Out” by Shel Silverstein has questions from different levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy (revised). It will test students’ literal and interpretive understanding of the selection including: point of view, making inferences, vocabulary, literary devices, figurative language, and other elements of literature. Questions are modeled after standardized tests (SAT, ACT, and state tests) to familiarize students with the structure and vocabulary of standardized test questions. Questions are spaced 1.5 lines apart for comfortable reading. The questions also encourage students to go back and re-read key parts of the selection, a crucial skill for comprehension and improving reading stamina. Teachers are encouraged to remove/add questions as they see fit for their students. Includes link to free file of the text so each student can get their own copy to annotate. Answer key included. These worksheets are designed to help your young ones develop their cutting skills. Being able to cut basic lines is an important fine motor skill for children and these printable pages will give them the practice that they need. They include straight lines, curved lines, zig-zag and other random lines; and make an ideal tool for parents, and teachers who would like to help kids develop their fine motor skills.
The packet includes some easy-to-complete activities like cutting a straight or slanted line and progressing to more advanced activities such as cutting many times on long curved lines and cutting shapes. There are also cut-apart cards that can be used as puzzles when completed.
This A-Z alphabet around the house scavenger hunt can be printed and sent home as part of remote learning packets or shared with students and parents through a secure digital platform or email. Consider placing printed copies in a plastic sleeve and use it them a dry erase marker multiple times. Students trace the letter and find something inside or outside their house that starts with the letter. Start a competition with your students or children to see who can find the most objects for each letter, or who can find at least one thing for the most letters.
Another option is to have them do a picture search in books. Can they find one object for each letter in some of their favorite picture books?

November is Thanksgiving time and most of us will be celebrating with a turkey dinner. Did you know that the Native American Indians were raising turkey as far back as 1000 A.D. ? Did you know that the Aztecs, of Mexico, were raising turkeys even earlier, about 200 B.C. ? Did you know that the state of Minnesota raises more turkeys each year than any other state? Freebie! Turkey themed letter discrimination page to help with frequently reversed letters. Students can color the page according the key or use clear bingo chips to save paper. Works great with small groups and independent centers.

This is a super simple craft freebie that I threw together. All you need to do is select which version you want (phonics, math, or blank), cut construction paper down to 8.5 by 11, and print.
I have my students cut the pieces because we ALL know they need that fine motor practice.
This is my “OMG it’s like my students can smell Thanksgiving break!” remedy.
Plus, if you make it related to the standards, then the craft is justifiable all day long to any admin! “Oh look, they are APPLYING their knowledge of the standard and it’s differentiated!” 😉

A book describing all the steps to how a pumpkin grows. The book should be printed, photocopied, cut, and bound together. I also have included a teachers book to read to the class. This is a quick activity that will help kids in learning first, next, then, after, and finally.
This FREE Dots Fun for Everyone 10 page resource that encompasses activities for sorting dominoes, four digit place value, and using division facts. Overall, it contains three different activities and one game that involve finding sums that equal 12. The activities and games vary in difficulty; so differentiated instruction is easy. This resource is also excellent for math center activities.
For these activities, commercial sets of dominoes may be used or you can copy the blackline which is provided in the resource. You should have at least one set of 28 dominoes for every two children.
These activities are appropriate for the visual and/or kinesthetic learner and are appropriate for grades 3-6. They work well for a math center, for differentiated instruction, as well as for introducing or reviewing a math concept.

Weekly Word problems allow students to practice their word problem skills each day. In this activity, students solve 3 word problems a day, and on Fridays they write their own word problem for a specific operation. There are 4 weeks worth of word problems in this product.
The November version contains a mixture of addition, subtraction, and multiplication word problems. In this activity, students have to solve 3 word problems a day, and on Fridays they draw their own word problems. I’ve also included a skill sheet that is a combination of the week’s word problems.
This middle school static lab is a lot of fun, and memorable for students.
