Happy December!

In my LAST POST, I mentioned a giveaway on a post from my own blog for a ten dollar Teachers Pay Teachers gift card.  “Tori” is the winner of the giveaway.  She has an extra ten dollars of spending money or she can give the code to another teacher as a gift.

I am happy to announce that I am running ANOTHER GIVEAWAY for the same prize!  This contest has a very easy requirement and you don’t need to follow anyone to enter!  The giveaway ends on December 15th and the winner will be announced that same evening.  This way, the lucky winner will have the code to use while we’re still within the Christmas season!  Of course, he/she can keep the gift card for later use because Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards NEVER EXPIRE!  Click on the word CONTEST to enter the giveaway.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Je fais un oiseau – from my Learn to Read series features 33 flashcards to help students learn French vocabulary. The cards teach students the different sounds as well as vocabulary with pictures to facilitate the reading process.

The following vocabulary words are included:

– Oiseau, je, fais, un, voici, aile, use of l’, œil, va, ici, le, bec, queue, la.

The cards use the words in various different contexts to reinforce learning and reading. In addition, half of the flashcards have the picture to introduce the words, and the other half only have the words to help students read more independently.

This package also contains 3 writing exercises where students can rewrite the words they saw on the flashcards. They must rewrite the sentences twice: once tracing the words, and the next, copying the sentences. Make sure to reinforce the use of the capital letter and period at the end of the sentence.

This writing project is creative way to teach research skills to your high school U.S. history students as well as increase their knowledge of the Spanish-American War.

I used this project as a way to encourage research skills, creativity, and teamwork among the students in my class. While geared towards 11th and 12th grade history classes, this project could easily be adapted for 9th and 10th grade levels. This could also be used in homeschool curriculum. A rubric is included.
