Answers vary between the number 0-11.
Students should already have prior knowledge of counting forwards and backwards.

Here’s an easy paper management system developed by Laura Candler to deal with the problem of students forgetting to put names on their papers. When they finish their work, they slide their papers into a “paper drop,” a laminated brown envelope with a student checklist attached. At the end of the class period, pull out the papers to be sure you have everyone’s work. Then put the papers right back into the envelope to keep them together for grading later. The entire Paper Drop System system is described in this packet and includes the printables you need to make it work for you.

In this fun fall activity, students create a squirrel following easy step by step drawing directions or they can follow directions for constructing him from cut paper. The easy to follow illustrations are laid out in such a way that this activity could be put into a center or used as a teacher directed activity. A background paper that students can use to form their squirrel upon is included as well as lined paper to use for a writing activity. Word wall cards are added to aid in spelling. The color words BROWN, BLACK, GRAY, and RED are used in the full color teacher read aloud. Students will be proud to show off their work and say I DID THIS MYSELF!

Flatworms and Roundworms: FREE Crossword Puzzle on the Phylum Platyhelminthes and the Phylum Nematoda

This crossword puzzle has 41 terms that are commonly used in a unit on flatworms and roundworms, the phyla Platyhelminthes and Nematoda. My students love to review in this way. It helps to reinforce concepts and vocabulary used when teaching this material. I particularly love that it helps students practice their spelling!

⭐ Interactive Notebooks can be fun, engaging, and meaningful, but they can also be a lot of cutting, gluing, small pieces of paper, and a big mess! I’ve designed this Easy Interactive Notebook to keep it fun and engaging, but not quite so overwhelming!

⭐ Everything you need for each word is on one page. Students will cut what they need as they go, so no small papers will get lost or accidently thrown away in the trash!

Want students to avoid plagiarism when using research in class assignments? The struggle is real, for you and them. But I’ve made you something to help.

Go one up on the traditional notecard by giving students copies of this graphic organizer to keep track of their research and attribute sources easily. A notecard just isn’t much of a guide, but this handout is!

On the page, students have room to write down...

Quotations (with page numbers!)
Big Ideas (with page numbers!)
Takeaways in their own Words
Full Citation Information for their Source

By having students use these instead of notecards, and then having them put away all their source materials before writing, you give them the best chance possible of avoiding plagiarism and keeping their research nicely organized.

Kindergarten – 1st Grade

These kite fact families are perfect for an interactive bulletin board or centers board. Print and laminate all of the pieces. Mount the kites on a bulletin board or a magnetic board. Use a piece of yarn or piece of fabric for the tail. Place the tail bows in a bucket. Students draw a bow and place it on the correct kite.

If you use this as a bulletin board, I think you should use velcro on the tail and the bows. If you are using it on a magnetic board, you can just place magnetic tape on the back of the bow.
