I use this in guided math groups. As the students successfully add by a given number then they move up to the next number. The students love this activity!

Welcome to The Fruit Characters and Mr. Orange Comprehension pack, a fun and engaging resource for young readers to practice their comprehension skills.

In this short reading comprehension, the Fruit Characters encounter Mr. Orange, a new fruit character who has lost his way and needs their help to find his way back home. The Fruit Characters are happy to assist and go on an adventure with Mr. Orange, which leads them to a surprise ending. The comprehension passages pack includes Bloom’s Questions, which encourage critical thinking and help students delve deeper into the story. These questions include topics such as problem-solving, character analysis, and personal reflection. Overall, this comprehension pack with questions and answers is designed to not only help students understand the story but also to encourage them to think critically and creatively. This is an engaging, winter-themed counting and place value card game. Three sets of cards are included for different levels of play: numbers 1-10, 10-20, and numbers over 20 (e.g. 27, 72, 45, 54). Students take turns representing the quantities on the cards using ones and/or tens and ones. This set also includes a directions sheet for parents if you send it home, ones and tens counters, 1 full-color recording page to laminate, and 2 black line pages.

This game addresses the following Common Core Standards* for Kindergarten and First Grade:

K.CC.A.3 Write numbers from 0 to 20. Represent a number of objects with a written numeral 0-20.

K.CC.B.4 Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality.

K.CC.B.5 Count to answer “how many?” questions about as many as 20 things arranged in a line, a rectangular array, or a circle, or as many as 10 things in a scattered configuration; given a number from 1–20, count out that many objects.

K.NBT.A.1 Compose and decompose numbers from 11 to 19 into ten ones and some further ones, e.g., by using objects or drawings, and record each composition or decomposition by a drawing or equation.

1.NBT.A.1 Count to 120, starting at any number less than 120. In this range, read and write numerals and represent a number of objects with a written numeral.

1.NBT.B.2 Understand that the two digits of a two-digit number represent amounts of tens and ones.

Here are 12 task cards to demonstrate my Word Family task cards that work on phoneme manipulation (deleting the initial sound and adding a new sound) to make words.

This is an important skill for developing reading and decoding/encoding skills.

Many students with Dyslexia and other who struggle with reading and writing have difficulty with the skill of phoneme manipulation in words.
Auditory conceptualization skills often require specific structured direct teaching and lots of practice.

New Year’s Day Writing Prompts, this file includes 6 unique and creative writing prompts geared around the New Year season. These writing prompts have a fun twist, students will get to ‘build’ their own craft to match their written responses. They will cut and paste the emotion on their craft. Excellent for paragraph practice, sentence writing practice, quick-writes, impromptu writing, creative writing, and for some holiday fun.

What are Build a Funny Face Writing Prompt Crafts?
This set of writing craft prompts are fun and interactive! They are very easy to set up. Print and hand out a writing prompt for each student, you can print one prompt for each student using one theme or you could mix up the theme!

How to use:
The students read the writing prompts and continue writing their stories and then cut out their choice of eyes and mouth. They paste these onto their pictures and cut out the writing section along with the graphic. They then color their pictures and paste the whole cut out onto thick construction paper. You can hang these for display.
