This is a simple science activity that can be completed in the classroom. It uses minimal equipment and students love having something to touch and explore!
Included are complete instructions for making your own silly putty, as well as a scientific explanation of what happened. There are also differentiated student response forms for students to record their hypotheses, questions, process, conclusions, explanations and observations. The student response forms allow students to either write or draw their responses – this is a fabulous way to get your students excited about writing!

Looking for a fun interactive game for your students to practice telling time to the hour? This game will do that and keep your students engaged and having fun!
How to Play Scoot Every student gets a copy of the response sheet. Students will move from desk to desk or seat to seat, reading the card or you put there and answering it on their sheet in the corresponding box.
It is very important to practice moving from desk to desk or seat to seat before playing the game. Do this a couple of times so they get the hang of moving to the next number. When you say “Scoot” they get up, push in their chair and take their clipboard and pencil to the next numbered desk or seat.
Included: ❊ 24 time cards ❋ Blank template to create own time cards ❊ 2 response sheets with and without numbered boxes.

It is a simple word sort I used this week for double medial consonants- similar to the 1+1+1 or doubling rule.
Small amount of colour so it can easily be printed in black and white or colour! No need for instructions- simply cut, sort and glue! Even if the kiddo’s don’t get the rule, they can still visually identify the pattern and sort them.
I hope you enjoy this resource, and I would love to hear your feedback, good or bad.

Turning my thoughts to sunny days and warmer weather!!! Can’t you just smell spring in the air? Daffodils beginning to bloom, Lilac trees starting to flower, and Lilies of the Valley popping up. A vaccine for Covid-19 hopefully soon.
It’s been five weeks since we’ve been quarantined and it has taken me this long to even try to organize my thoughts (& life!) Well, still working on the life part. . . How are you all doing? Despite teaching 30+ years, I feel like a brand-new teacher again, attempting to get a handle on “distance learning”, “remote learning”, whatever you want to call it: learning without physically being with my students! Here are 5 tips to help ease the transition to distance learning.
This Coronavirus pandemic is extremely serious and stressful, but independent reading can be part of a useful solution to children learning at home. Now is a good time to hook kids on reading because they can choose their own books according to their own interests. At the same time, they can practice previously taught reading skills and improve in many ways.
Each year, my husband reads the book “My Side of the Mountain” to his science students. As a culminating activity, the students make falcon hoods since Sam has a peregrine falcon for hunting. Take a look at some of the falcon hoods his 6th grade students made in my latest blog post.
Use these simple, yet practical, ideas to help safeguard your family during the Coronavirus pandemic. Be sure to read the comments section for other great ideas and videos shared by our readers.
The package contains 6 worksheets on even and odd numbers. It includes coloring in the odd and even numbers, filling in the gaps and completing odd / even numbers mazes. These resources all contain a cute pencil theme.

Super Sentences – CVC Edition is the perfect resource for helping your students learn how to write a sentence, read sentence and understand sentence structure. In this multi-sensory approach, students will practice writing sentences in a fun and engaging way. As a teacher I am always looking for ways to practice multiple skills at one time. These Super Sentence pages do just that. Your students will practice reading, writing and comprehension all in one page.
Each page includes the following sections: *Read It – I encourage my students to read the sentence independently and touch each word as they read . *Build It – Students will cut the words from the bottom of the page and build the sentence correctly. Having the sentence at the top of the page allows the students to practice a proper sentence using matching as necessary. *Write It – Students will copy the sentence and write it on the lines provided. Encourage students to use proper handwriting and spacing during this step. *Draw It – Students will illustrate the sentence. If students have read the sentence independently then you have a chance to assess reading comprehension in this section.

This K-5th Character Education Song Kit for RESPONSIBILITY contains:
• Words & Music: Melody line with Chords
• Songsheet with Lyrics only
• Easy Movement Suggestions for the song (simple hand movements with students standing in place.)
• 3 MP3 tracks – Vocal & Accompaniment – While this is not a professional studio recording, it will be very useful for non-music teachers as well as music teachers to sing along with their students.
There are two versions of this song – one for K-1st and one for 2nd-5th. There is a vocal and accompaniment track for each of these.
Age Appropriate for:
• Elementary
• Homeschool
These are original songs that I wrote and used as a cooperative effort with our school counselor in our school’s K-5 CHARACTER EDUCATION program. The songs are simple enough for Kindergarteners to learn most of each song while teaching them to all grades.
Other products include individual Character Education Song Kits for each trait.
Also available is the entire CHARACTER EDUCATION SONG KIT PACKAGE that includes all 11 Kits. (Responsibility, Respect, Courage, Good Judgment, Citizenship, Integrity, Cooperation, Trustworthiness, Kindness, Self-Discipline, Perseverance)
In K-2nd I would begin each class with the song for that month. Grades 3rd -5th would sing them a couple of times throughout the month and were always encouraged to “Help teach the song to younger siblings!”
It was a school-wide effort that was appreciated by our school community. I also included them a few times in an end-of-the-year program where the entire school audience would join together singing them.

Who wants another spring clipart FREEBIE?! Great for adding a punch of color to covers, or to embellish your spring, Easter, or Earth day resources, these doodle flower illustrations are just the thing 🙂 There are 5 different images, each in 3 different color variations. White-filled blacklines are also included.
All pieces are high resolution 300 dpi PNG images on transparent backgrounds and can easily be layered into your projects and lesson materials.
What Are Doodle Clips? Doodle Clips are images created from sketching traditionally (on paper), inking (blackline), then coloring either traditionally (with markers, pencils, or paint) or digitally. They tend to have a much more organic feel, and AREN’T composed of perfectly straight lines. There is beauty in imperfection, which is what I love most about Doodle Clips!
