Have a little fraction fun with this Valentine’s activity! This is similar to my Fraction Avenue, but it has a Valentine’s twist. Students decorate a “Valentine Village” using fractions. There are two versions of this activity to allow for easy differentiation. In one version, students model basic fractions, and in the second version, students must model equivalent fractions.

Looking for something new for Valentine’s Day? This is a set of three bookmarks that read “More love please!” Once laminated, they are great for prizes in your classroom. Same design in three different colors: pink, red and purple.

I punch a hole at the top of the bookmark and tie curling ribbon in a coordinating color to complete the look!

Pre-Kindergarten – 4th Grade

This product is a sample of larger Kid-Maker Playdough Mat products. The theme of this FREEBIE is “pool party”. You can use this mat to also talk to your students about the importance of pool / water / swimming safety as they head off for the summer.

Playdough is a great activity for small hands to reinforce and strengthen developing fine motor skills. Your students will love filling in and creating objects to correspond with the theme on their mat. Each mat is on an 8.5 x 11 page and includes a colourful background to enhance creativity. The mats can also be printed on an 11 x 17 page by simply changing the settings when you go to print.

These mats can connect to STEM or STEAM as well and can be utilized for different grade levels. I have used them with my Kindergartens as well as with my Grade 4s. To challenge older thinkers, there are a variety of different perspectives included (some birds’ eye view, some horizontal). The mat themes also come in a variety of sizes, which encourages students to think critically about the size of each object they make and how it will fit into the mat.


***Please be aware that these are in colour only, as the b&w version eliminates the quality of the majority of the backgrounds. However, you would be able to choose to print them in greyscale if you preferred.

I recommend printing on card stock from your home or school printer on an 8.5 x 11 page (or 11 x 17) and laminating for long-term classroom use.

My 5th grade students had a hard time grasping the many comma rules we learn, and using them when needed in their writing. We did worksheets, scavenger hunts, edited paragraphs, etc. but they never really caught on until we did this project in small groups! 🙂

Free ESL & ELL Game for beginners and intermediate English students! ☀☀☀

Improve your students’ listening and speaking skills with this fun and engaging activity which aims to improve speaking clarity and listening comprehension while also providing them with a memorable lesson almost guaranteed to have them crying with laughter!

This is one of my very favorite teaching activities! Give it a try…i guarantee your students will love it! I have taught it to ESL/ELL students aged from 5 to 75 in multiple countries and it always works really well. I think it would also work really well in public schools; either for art or for English for younger learners. I hope you like it, too!

Mulitple worksheets and activities to pre-teach important vocab

Multiple matching activity worksheets are included in order for you to help students overcome any blocking words. There is a focus on body parts and shapes and is a good recap for young learners/ELL/ESL students.

Practice and Strengthen students speaking and listening accuracy

Students work in pairs to describe and draw a monster. One student can see the monster printout and has to describe accurately and in details what they can see. The other has to listen very carefully so that they are able to create a copy of the drawing.

This activity always has students roaring with laughter. A very popular activity and one which is both fun and has real educational benefit!

Do you wish your students could remember mathematical processes in a fun and easy way? This one-page quick reference sheet for math folders uses songs, rhymes, and tables to help your students remember math algorithms and math concepts.

It’s great for keeping in a binder or affixing to a homework folder, suitable for 3rd to 5th grades.

The songs, rhymes, and tables include these mathematical concepts:

  • Prime numbers
  • Order of operations
  • Multiplication
  • Division
  • Definitions of common terms and simple formulas for geometry calculations.

I used it in my 5th grade class to help students remember concepts they had already learned, and also to introduce new concepts. It’s also great for 3rd grade and 4th grade.

Songs

  • Mean, median, and mode are sung to the tune of Row, Row, Row Your Boat.
  • Multi-digit multiplication order is sung to Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.
  • Prime numbers up to 50 is sung to the theme song for The Adams Family.

Mnemonic Phrases

  • “Please excuse my dear Aunt Sally” for Order of Operations.
  • “Does McDonald’s Sell CheeseBurgers and Shakes?” for the algorithm of long division.
