Students love playing matching games! They are fantastic for developing one’s memory, as well as testing and practicing a wide variety of different educational topics! With this generator you will be able to create fully customized and interactive matching games with ease!

Please note that this generator is intended for Individual Classroom Use ONLY. You MAY NOT use it to create bingo games to sell on Teachers Pay Teachers or any other platform.

I have created this FREE SAMPLE so that you can test whether the generator works with your version of PowerPoint. It is not designed for you to be able to create a large matching game. This version is designed to work on a PC. If you have a MAC, click here to test out the other version I have created!

How the generator works:

All you need to do is add your pictures (I have made this super easy!) and/or text – and then customize the game to your hearts content. Once you are happy with the game, hit “Generate Game” and your matching game will be created!

Fantastic features:

• You can create your matching game with matching pairs containing identical cards OR cards that match because they are related (e.g. five matches 5)
• In this FREE SAMPLE you can create a game with 1 level that has 6, 8 or 10 cards
• You can make cards with pictures, text or pictures with captions – and you can use a combination too!
• You can customize the cards and game appearance fully – change fonts, backgrounds, colours etc.
• When the game has finished generating, it works entirely with animations – NO MACROS NEEDED! This means that you will be able to save it as a regular PowerPoint file (not macro-enabled) so that players will not need to worry about macros at all.
• When playing the game, a reinforcement message pops up whenever a match has been made, letting players know that they got a match and what the cards were that matched. This is fantastic for ensuring that students learn as they play!
• Players can choose to play in 1 player or 2 player mode. In 2 player mode, they can give themselves a point each time they get a match!
• 3 different versions of each level is created – so players can play the level 3 times over, and it will be different each time! If they click the “play again” button for a third time, they get taken back to the first version of the level and they can replay it.

Matching games created with this generator can be played on Microsoft PowerPoint. They unfortunately do not work on Google Slides.

Virtual tours and field trips provide students with opportunities they may not get to experience otherwise.

Where else can you “take a trip” to see Sistine Chapel, the bottom of the Pacific Ocean, or the African grasslands — all in one day?

These tools may also challenge students to think critically about the places they visit. For example, a virtual trip to Pompeii requires students to consider the quality of life in an ancient city. A trip to Chichen Itza will allow them to appreciate and question the Mayas design decisions. Simply, virtual field trips can spark your students’ interest and motivate their learning in a specific content area. 

The following websites are worth considering for virtual field trips. Some are built as all-inclusive virtual trips with text and audio; others provide only imagery which can be adapted to fit the needs of a lesson.
