Kids will have a fun and engaging time learning about Abraham Lincoln with this interactive Smartboard.
Use as an introduction, unit review or for independent practice with your students.
Simply drag and drop the correct answer into the box. Picture cues and differences in answer box sizes will help younger learners. This can also be a great opportunity to use the Smartboard markers to locate sight words within sentences, find and mark punctuation and capitalization.

This is a free sample of our Math Art worksheets. This download includes one worksheet requiring the pupils to evaluate expressions using algebraic substitution. Once pupils have completed the questions they need to shade all the squares with that answer in the color stated. This results in a Valentine’s image. This download includes both the UK and US versions taking into account the spelling differences.
Our purchasable Math Art has at least two, usually three differentiated worksheets per topic.
Math Art combines the fun of coloring and the consolidation of mathematical skills. Ideal as a plenary activity to determine what learning has taken place, alternatively use to determine pupils prior knowledge to a topic and of course great for revision.

“When it comes to adding and subtracting positive and negative numbers, many students have great difficulty. In reality, it is a very confusing and abstract idea; so, it is important to give the students a concrete visual to assist them in seeing the solution. Find out how I teach this concept to my remedial college math students in my newest blog post. “

This is a super easy project to prepare. Students use 2D shapes to create a Santa. The shapes can be traced upon card stock and used as templates OR you can challenge your students to create their own shapes. When Santa is complete, students count their shapes and write how many upon the recording sheet.
The bookmarks and certificates presented in this download have decorative Christmas designs – great for all the shining stars in your classroom this Festive Season.
December can be a little nuts, and this hands on, print and go center is just what you need to keep your students engaged and learning! This pack covers letter sounds for s, r, c, b, and t, identifying Christmas word, graphing, identifying pictures, and writing a story! It’s sure to be a hit just like the rest of my Bowl & Learn Centers!
Simply print out the center(s) you’d like to use, laminate the bowling sheet, copy the recording sheets, add mini bowling pins (available at the Dollar Tree or on Amazon) small cups, or even toilet paper rolls!
These centers will require a short modeling lesson before your students get to work.
These centers work very well in partners, and are a great opportunity for students to practice taking turns.
Keep your students writing all December long with these 9 no-prep holiday writing prompts. There are six Christmas prompts, two each for opinion, informative, and narrative writing. There are also three Hanukkah prompts, one for each of the three writing types.
These prompts will work perfectly with I Heart Paragraph Writing – Paragraph of the Week as a seasonal prompts. They could also be used with whatever paragraph program you are using, or you could simply use them as a jumping off point and use notebook paper for organizing, first draft, editing, and final drafts. They could also be expanded into 3-5 paragraph essays.

A fun Christmas Party Game! Stick or Pin the Nose on the Reindeer. Try this quick little game that is fun for all ages. Print out the reindeer with no nose, and then hang it up on the wall. Use a red pom pom for the nose for Rudolph or a black one if you want to make a different reindeer or caribou. Instead of using pins, get some petroleum jelly, put some where the nose is supposed to go, and give each contestant a dab on their nose! Kids have to stick a pom pom on their nose, walk over to the reindeer poster, and attempt to transfer the pom pom nose to the reindeer’s face! It’s pretty difficult, so no blindfolds are necessary! Enjoy this free printable for some quick fun this Christmas at school or at home for your holiday gathering! Merry Christmas!
Are you looking for some fun holiday sheets to accompany your decimal review? These sheets are perfect!
The sheets have different decimal operations on each sheet. The problems are written inside of ornaments. The students can then decorate their ornaments when they finish!
This is a fun, low stress way to practice and review decimals while keeping students engaged during the hectic holiday season!

Combine scientific classification using dichotomous classification keys with holiday fun and community service!
Teach your middle and high school students how to use a dichotomous classification key while instructing them on the importance of holiday giving and community service.
Students will use this “scientific” classification key to identify the scientific name of various candies and toiletries. As the activity progresses, students will place the candies in small stockings and the toiletries in Ziplock bags so that they can be donated to local food banks, homeless shelters or nursing homes.

I can only speak for myself,
but I bet that many of us have not even thought about speaking with our
students concerning using good manners when commenting on that blog
post, or stating opinions on social media sites. Not only do our
classes need to be educated about online etiquette, or netiquette but they have to learn to be careful about what kind of information they share online.
November . . . the time of year when students are starting to get antsy for Winter Break, yet it’s still not close enough. Teachers are tired, parent conference time and report cards are here, the time change has made it darker earlier. . . Bookmaking is the perfect solution for reinvigorating your students’ writing in any content area!
Our family has a reunion every year at Thanksgiving time. We are
scattered all over the country (actually all over the world) now, but
each year as many as possible try to meet up for a banquet cooked by
professional chefs (yay!) rather than by any of us. ***********************************************************
