Students love playing matching games! They are fantastic for developing one’s memory, as well as testing and practicing a wide variety of different educational topics! With this generator you will be able to create fully customized and interactive matching games with ease!

Please note that this generator is intended for Individual Classroom Use ONLY. You MAY NOT use it to create bingo games to sell on Teachers Pay Teachers or any other platform.

I have created this FREE SAMPLE so that you can test whether the generator works with your version of PowerPoint. It is not designed for you to be able to create a large matching game. This version is designed to work on a PC. If you have a MAC, click here to test out the other version I have created!

How the generator works:

All you need to do is add your pictures (I have made this super easy!) and/or text – and then customize the game to your hearts content. Once you are happy with the game, hit “Generate Game” and your matching game will be created!

Fantastic features:

You can create your matching game with matching pairs containing identical cards OR cards that match because they are related (e.g. five matches 5)
In this FREE SAMPLE you can create a game with 1 level that has 6, 8 or 10 cards
You can make cards with pictures, text or pictures with captions – and you can use a combination too!
You can customize the cards and game appearance fully – change fonts, backgrounds, colours etc.
When the game has finished generating, it works entirely with animations – NO MACROS NEEDED! This means that you will be able to save it as a regular PowerPoint file (not macro-enabled) so that players will not need to worry about macros at all.
When playing the game, a reinforcement message pops up whenever a match has been made, letting players know that they got a match and what the cards were that matched. This is fantastic for ensuring that students learn as they play!
Players can choose to play in 1 player or 2 player mode. In 2 player mode, they can give themselves a point each time they get a match!
3 different versions of each level is created – so players can play the level 3 times over, and it will be different each time! If they click the “play again” button for a third time, they get taken back to the first version of the level and they can replay it.

This product will help your students learn close reading habits with the help of a free article from ReadWorks.org. The questions included will help you conduct a close reading for this informational text.

It covers all of the Reading Informational Text Standards for the Common Core Third Grade Standards. It is a mixture of multiple choice, short answer, and extended answer questions. The questions are provided, which takes the guesswork out of close reading and allows you to integrate close reading into your daily schedule.

In order to do the reading, just print the article and questions for each student or group and start annotating this informational text. This would work especially well in an interactive notebook, so students can reference it in the future while doing close reading. This will also work as a class read, projected and read together, if printing is limited or not desired, with questions printed or discussed as a class.

The close read questions included correlate to ReadWorks.org’s “Eruption” Part 2. This passage is all about how a volcano works. It is written at grade 3, lexile 820 level. This makes it an advanced individual read or a class/small group read. It can be found at: Eruption.

For this close read, I only used the third page of the text. If you are interested in the other part (pages 1 and 2), please see Close Read “Eruption”, Part 1.

This is all aligned to the Third Grade Common Core Standards, with a focus on asking questions that are aligned to the level of complexity the standards require. Many times, close readings will focus on the standards, but not at the right level of complexity, meaning students are answering questions below the level they need to. This practice doesn’t actually help them develop the skills they need. These questions will help you to focus on asking the right questions, so the practice will match the end of the year assessment, as well as helping your students develop the needed skills to do well in the future.

Collect the Easter Eggs Game Freebie

This is a 2 player game. Each player takes a game board (an Easter Basket). 1, 2, or 3 dice are needed for this game. For younger students, roll one die and place the correct number of eggs on their pot of gold. Older students can roll 2 or 3 die and add the numbers together to get the number of eggs they should take. When all of the eggs are gone, the students count the eggs on their game board. The player with the most eggs wins.

1/12/14: I have added counters for counting my 2s, 5, and 10s to this file.

Common Core Standards:
K.CC.1 Count to 100 by ones and tens.
K.CC.4 Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality.
K.CC.5 Count to answer “how many?” questions about as many as 20 things arranged in a line, a rectangular array, or a circle, or as many as 10 things in a scattered configuration; given a number from 1-20, count out that many objects.
K.CC.6 Identify whether the number of objects in one group is greater than, less than, or equal to the number of objects in another group, e.g./ by using matching and counting strategies. (Include groups with up to 10 objects.)
1.OA.3 Apply properties of operations as strategies to add and subtract.
1.OA.5 Relate counting to addition and subtraction
1.OA.6 Add and subtract within 20, demonstrating fluency for addition and subtraction within 10.

Are your students struggling in the classroom? Are they having difficulty drawing recognizable pictures in their writing journals? Difficulty processing visual information and poor visual-motor coordination skills can lead to problems with reading, spelling, handwriting, drawing, math, and comprehension. Use these fun free, roll and draw a bunny, visual perception activities to help your students improve their drawing and planning skills. Visual perception is the skill needed for a child to make sense of what they see. Help their brains interpret the information they are taking in all day long with these activities.

This is a free Spring Easter Drawing resource. Both a print and digital version are included. Check out more roll and draw or digital drawing spinners in my store.

The print or on-screen Roll and Draw a bunny can be used math center station for work on number identification. Great for classroom activities, virtual lessons, small group special education, teletherapy, and occupational therapy.

Students must draw the parts in the order that they roll. This works on visual perceptual and executive functioning skills, as they must plan out where each part will go. Challenge them to complete the drawing without erasing.

The distance learning resource contains a link to the digital spinning wheel for drawing a bunny. These wheels are great for distance learning and occupational teletherapy sessions, click on the board to use the link to the Wheel of Names website. They can also be used in the classroom on a smartboard or personal device. Must have an internet connection for access to the digital version on the website. Boards can also be printed and used with a pencil and paper clip spinner.

Directions: You or your students spin the wheel. Drawing wheels can be used like my other roll and spin drawing activities. Each spin is the part of the drawing they need to complete. These are a great way to work on visual perception and planning skills. Writing prompt wheels can be spun a few times for each student. They can then write a story that includes the images they spun.

This is great Pre-Writing Organizer to use with beginning writers. The topic or main idea goes in the middle. Then, the three numbered squares are for pictures or sentences about the topic. The fourth square, with the face, is for the picture or sentence about how the topic makes the students feel. It is a great way for students to organize their thoughts. More advanced writers can write paragraphs in each section of the organizer before transferring it to a final draft.
