Using this Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. – What Would You Do? lesson in your classroom will benefit your students in the following ways:

Free ESL & ELL Game for beginners and intermediate English students! ☀☀☀

Improve your students’ listening and speaking skills with this fun and engaging activity which aims to improve speaking clarity and listening comprehension while also providing them with a memorable lesson almost guaranteed to have them crying with laughter!

This is one of my very favorite teaching activities! Give it a try…i guarantee your students will love it! I have taught it to ESL/ELL students aged from 5 to 75 in multiple countries and it always works really well. I think it would also work really well in public schools; either for art or for English for younger learners. I hope you like it, too!

Mulitple worksheets and activities to pre-teach important vocab

Multiple matching activity worksheets are included in order for you to help students overcome any blocking words. There is a focus on body parts and shapes and is a good recap for young learners/ELL/ESL students.

Practice and Strengthen students speaking and listening accuracy

Students work in pairs to describe and draw a monster. One student can see the monster printout and has to describe accurately and in details what they can see. The other has to listen very carefully so that they are able to create a copy of the drawing.

This activity always has students roaring with laughter. A very popular activity and one which is both fun and has real educational benefit!

This activity will get your students up and moving all while working collaboratively in partners or small groups. Each card has an addition or subtraction question with positive and negative integers. You can use this as an informal assessment after the number operations unit or as a great review before STAAR or a unit test. I also use this activity with my 7th graders to review positive and negative rules before starting our rational number unit.

This activity includes a sheet for students to write their answers and show their work on, as well as a teacher answer key.

Have you ever felt overwhelmed and just needed a minute to catch your breath? Have you ever wondered how you could keep your class busy while you worked one-on-one with a student or small group? I know I have and that’s why I created 7 Minute Whiteboard Videos. They are ZERO prep! No copies! No early finishers! No grading! The best part is, kids LOVE them!

These videos offer a quick, no-prep review that your students are going to love! Each student needs a whiteboard, marker, and eraser.

This free video lets you try out Word Families. Students will hear a word and see a picture as they write the word on their dry erase board. After a brief time, the word appears and is spelled aloud as students check their own work. They circle the word family ending and erase their boards before practicing another word. After five words in the word family, they write the word family ending and switch the beginning sound several times. Each video is approximately 7 minutes long. These are wonderful for transitions or as a warm-up before your lesson.

Do you wish your students could remember mathematical processes in a fun and easy way? This one-page quick reference sheet for math folders uses songs, rhymes, and tables to help your students remember math algorithms and math concepts.

It’s great for keeping in a binder or affixing to a homework folder, suitable for 3rd to 5th grades.

The songs, rhymes, and tables include these mathematical concepts:

  • Prime numbers
  • Order of operations
  • Multiplication
  • Division
  • Definitions of common terms and simple formulas for geometry calculations.

I used it in my 5th grade class to help students remember concepts they had already learned, and also to introduce new concepts. It’s also great for 3rd grade and 4th grade.

Songs

  • Mean, median, and mode are sung to the tune of Row, Row, Row Your Boat.
  • Multi-digit multiplication order is sung to Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.
  • Prime numbers up to 50 is sung to the theme song for The Adams Family.

Mnemonic Phrases

  • “Please excuse my dear Aunt Sally” for Order of Operations.
  • “Does McDonald’s Sell CheeseBurgers and Shakes?” for the algorithm of long division.

This is the digital version of my popular Ugly Christmas Sweater Holiday Project.

About this resource :

Students will be able to apply what they know about translations, reflections and rotations to create an “Ugly Christmas Sweater”. {{The word Holiday is used in the resource in place of Christmas}}

Students will use a digital coordinate graph pre-populated with shapes to figure out where the sweater decorations will go. They will follow through the directions and come up with the placement of each object. They’ll have the chance to add to each object when they are finished – for example, they can turn the rectangle into a present.

They will then use the sweater with the grid inlay to sketch out their ugly sweater. You can have them add additional decorations / colors / designs / patterns to the sleeves if you wish.
