This worksheet develops the idea that we can use the answer to one calculation, such as 23 x 42, to work out the answer to related calculations involving decimals, such as 2.3 x 420.

Children practice letter identification and fine motor skills as they find capital and lower case letters in the maze. This little activity focuses on the letters S and P and makes a cute addition to your literacy centers during the Holidays. Print and laminate the sheets and allow children to complete the trail through the maze using erasable whiteboard markers or print out one for each child and have them colour in each square that has the correct letter in it.
Includes “S is for Santa” and “P is for Penguin” cards, 6 mazes and solutions.

This is a game that is played like the popular game Pictionary. There are 36 sets of cards in color and black/white with holiday terms on them. One artist from each team draws the chosen card trying to get their team to guess the correct term. The team with the most points at the end wins the game. I have included a directions page with some other options for this game as well.
In this download you will find a menu similar to what you would find in a restaurant including items such as an appetizer, an entree, side dishes, and deserts. The way this is used, instead of food there are a variety of assignments that students can complete to show their mastery of their understanding of Plant Cells and Animal Cells. Some of the assignments include describing living things, describing the differences between cells, drawing and labeling cells, and creating flash cards.
So to use this, you will need to print out the pages included and students will need to have index cards to use for one of the assignments. The first assignment represents the appetizer (something that people share) because everyone completes it, it. Next the students can pick their entree (similar to ordering one meal), and they can pick just one of those listed assignments. Then with the entree comes two sides which students can then also pick which two of the three. For early finishers there is a desert that is entirely optional (great for extra credit!).
The reason why I made this was because I want students to feel like they have a choice in their assignments. I teach 7th grade and often times they just want the option of getting to choose their assignment. It is a great assignment for homework, amazing for centers (by having some students work on the entree or side dishes), and can also be used as class work.

This freebie has a Thanksgiving word wall and two writing pages that can be copied 2-sided for students to write a Thanksgiving-themed story. The word wall is great for them to refer to for spelling and/or ideas. Could be used whole group or in a center. Word wall can be displayed in a transparent sign or stapled to the writing sheet so each child can have their individual word wall.

This 19-question multiple-choice reading comprehension and analysis test on the poem “Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout Would Not Take the Garbage Out” by Shel Silverstein has questions from different levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy (revised). It will test students’ literal and interpretive understanding of the selection including: point of view, making inferences, vocabulary, literary devices, figurative language, and other elements of literature. Questions are modeled after standardized tests (SAT, ACT, and state tests) to familiarize students with the structure and vocabulary of standardized test questions. Questions are spaced 1.5 lines apart for comfortable reading. The questions also encourage students to go back and re-read key parts of the selection, a crucial skill for comprehension and improving reading stamina. These worksheets are designed to help your young ones develop their cutting skills. Being able to cut basic lines is an important fine motor skill for children and these printable pages will give them the practice that they need. They include straight lines, curved lines, zig-zag and other random lines; and make an ideal tool for parents, and teachers who would like to help kids develop their fine motor skills.
The packet includes some easy-to-complete activities like cutting a straight or slanted line and progressing to more advanced activities such as cutting many times on long curved lines and cutting shapes. There are also cut-apart cards that can be used as puzzles when completed.
This A-Z alphabet around the house scavenger hunt can be printed and sent home as part of remote learning packets or shared with students and parents through a secure digital platform or email. Consider placing printed copies in a plastic sleeve and use it them a dry erase marker multiple times. Students trace the letter and find something inside or outside their house that starts with the letter. Start a competition with your students or children to see who can find the most objects for each letter, or who can find at least one thing for the most letters.
Another option is to have them do a picture search in books. Can they find one object for each letter in some of their favorite picture books?

November is Thanksgiving time and most of us will be celebrating with a turkey dinner. Did you know that the Native American Indians were raising turkey as far back as 1000 A.D. ? Did you know that the Aztecs, of Mexico, were raising turkeys even earlier, about 200 B.C. ? Did you know that the state of Minnesota raises more turkeys each year than any other state? This is a super simple craft freebie that I threw together. All you need to do is select which version you want (phonics, math, or blank), cut construction paper down to 8.5 by 11, and print.
I have my students cut the pieces because we ALL know they need that fine motor practice.
This is my “OMG it’s like my students can smell Thanksgiving break!” remedy.
Plus, if you make it related to the standards, then the craft is justifiable all day long to any admin! “Oh look, they are APPLYING their knowledge of the standard and it’s differentiated!” 😉

A book describing all the steps to how a pumpkin grows. The book should be printed, photocopied, cut, and bound together. I also have included a teachers book to read to the class. This is a quick activity that will help kids in learning first, next, then, after, and finally.
