Implementing a classroom job system is a breeze with these detailed job cards. These cards are designed to help you boost the ownership your students have for their learning space. The format of each card includes a job title, a weekly salary, a brief description of the job, and a list of important reminders that help students carry out the job carefully and completely.

These cards can be a game changer in your classroom when it comes to maximizing the productivity of your tidy up time each day. Students can easily check the expectations for their job, boosting their ability to carry out a class job successfully and independently.

If you are interested in making your classroom jobs even more meaningful for students, consider implementing a classroom economy system. My Editable Classroom Economy Toolkit includes job applications, class cash used to pay student salaries, and a collection of class passes students can purchase with their hard-earned class cash.

What size are the cards?

These 3”x5.5” cards are arranged with multiple cards per page for easy printing on 8.5″x11″ paper. Once you edit, print, laminate, and cut your cards, they fit perfectly into standard-sized library pockets, making them perfect for a rotating job board. A photo of my job board is included in the teacher guide for inspiration.

What makes these job cards unique?

Each job title is accompanied by a short job description and behavior reminders to help your students complete each job successfully. Often times, students forget how to properly perform classroom jobs throughout the year. These detailed job cards are a perfect reference.

Why do some jobs have multiple cards?

Some of the more involved jobs have more than one card so multiple students can share that job, and feel successful working to meet the job expectations as a team each day.

Are these editable?

Yes. All the text on each job card is fully editable so you can tweak the job descriptions, and add jobs to fit the unique needs of your classroom. If the included job descriptions are a perfect match for your classroom, I have also included a ready-to-print version of the cards.

Digital Mystery Picture Multiplication is a digital activity created with Google Sheets to be used with Google Classroom or compatible programs. Students will have fun revealing the mystery picture while practicing multiplication facts in this digital math activity. It’s a great unit for distance learning.

*Note: You nor the students need to have extensive knowledge of Google Sheets in order to use this product.

More Information:

This unit includes one mystery picture. Students will type the answer to a multiplication problem. As students type in each answer, several pixels will appear. When all questions have been answered correctly, the picture will be completed.

Palindromes in Words and Numbers
I was getting ready to pay for my meal at a buffet when I noticed the cashier’s name tag. It read “Anna” to which I replied, “Your name is a palindrome!” The cashier just stared at me in disbelief. I explained that a palindrome was letters that read the same backwards as forwards. Because you could read her name forwards and backwards, it qualified as a palindrome. In fact, February 22, 2022 will be a palindrome if written as 2-22-22!

These reading passages are from my complete and comprehensive immigration unit (link below) . The passages focus on why people immigrated to American in the 1700s and 1800s. The passages are written at two different difficulty levels so you can differentiate as needed and each passage includes the same set of comprehension questions. The passages are appropriate for students in grades 1-5 depending on their reading level.

You choose the problem to assign to your students and the standard to address. The students use the thinking bubble, to make a plan or draw a picture. They use the other rectangles to write the equation and solve it, show how they checked their work, and last of all to explain their work and their thinking. This helps students dive deep into the mathematical concept or working through problems with perseverance. It’s great to use for homework or group work. You can project it on the whiteboard to show the process of problem solving. You can also use it for assessments and performance tasks.

This product is designed to pick up where other color-coded text evidence activities leave off. As students get older, they are using more and more of their evidence in their writing. They are expected to provide longer written answers. Still, we have reluctant writers in our classrooms. We have times when we need to give our upper elementary students a reminder about the importance of providing text evidence as support for their statements. I have used this activity as bell work, homework, and this year, I have also sent it home as part of my students’ ELA summer work requirements. This particular packet is a freebie so that you can see just how helpful Prove It or Lose It activities will be in your classroom! I Dreaded My Third Period Class
It was cold and blustery outside, one of those days you just wanted to stay under the covers, but truth be told, I immediately thought about how I dreaded my third period class, I so wanted to turn over and forget about it for a while.
