This resource includes one page from each month of my Daily Math First Grade year long DIGITAL distance learning bundle for Google. It was created with Google Forms™ and is meant to be shared with your students with Google Classroom™ or Google Drive™. When you download, you will be prompted to copy these assessments into your own Google Drive™ folder, which you can then share with students so they can practice and review important math skills.

You can immediately see student results, including:

item by item analysis of the students’ work,
individual responses for each student,
a spreadsheet with all of your students’ answers.

With this resource your students will:

-work on addition and subtraction word problems, and will use number lines, 10 frames, number bonds and base 10 blocks to help solve them,

This activity will help students practice telling time in different ways. They will be tasked with creating a classroom schedule based on a table of subjects with time descriptors such as “quarter to 9” and “5 minutes past 12”.

Students will use the information in the table to fill out schedule cards with the subject name and the time on digital and analog clocks. Then, have students cut apart the schedule cards and arrange them in the correct order. You can have students glue the cards in their notebooks or mount them on construction paper.

Included is one project page with student directions and table, schedule cards in 2 different sizes, and an answer key. Challenge students to tell and write the time in multiple ways!

Students love to be able to make choices in their learning and have fun at the same time. So, why not let them!

Menu Math is a fantastic tool to use in your math classroom because it allows for differentiation, choice, fun, and creativity. Students are encouraged to think critically and creatively through the use of Menu Math.

Menu Math consists of Main Dishes, Side Dishes, and Desserts.

Main Dishes are the main required projects, and they are done first.
Side Dishes are done AFTER the Main Dishes and involve more creativity and choice.
Desserts are done AFTER the Main Dishes and the Side Dishes and are the “fun” projects, where students get to create videos and games.

These 4 sample differentiated math activities are part of myMenu Math pack.

There are 242 total projects or activities from the following topics:

My students loved Menu Math. My students worked on Menu Math while I met with my small groups for reteaching. They loved to be able to choose how they showed me what they know.

The best thing about Menu Math is that everything is changeable and adaptable. You can mix and match the activities and projects around however you want – including 2 place value activities, 3 addition activities, 1 multi-step problem activity, and 3 perimeter and area activities. You can use it to see their background knowledge and what they remember and know from the previous year. You can use it for review or assessment. It’s so flexible. If students are continuing to struggle in one area, continue the same type of activities onto the next week.

This READY TO PRINT activity is perfect for helping your students practice dividing whole numbers in a FUN way. It is NO-PREP and will keep students engaged while practicing their division skills.

In this activity, students will cut out puzzle pieces and match the correct answers together. An answer sheet is included for students to glue their matches together. There are 12 matches on the worksheet.

Make sure this activity is appropriate for your students. Look at the thumbnails and download the preview to see examples of the properties. This activity could be used as an alternative assessment, a partner activity, or as a review before a test. I copy the student’s sheet on colored paper and let them hang their finished product in the classroom. This could also be shrunk when copied and included in an interactive notebook.

As an elementary math teacher, multiplication facts have always been a source of concern. A deep understanding of multiplication is essential for students, but there is also a need for memorization of multiplication facts.

Many existing online programs create unnecessary stress for students. Several children, especially the ones who struggle with memorization and/or anxiety, appear to become frustrated by the timed aspect of the quizzes.

Some of these programs do not provide the support needed for struggling students, even with ample practice time in class. While all students can certainly learn and improve, some students may need alternative strategies and approaches, rather than solely focusing on memorization.

This digital multiplication program provides an alternative solution. It can be used along with any of your favorite existing resources or math curriculum. How you implement this program will depend on your students and their needs.

This program is broken into 5 parts. Each day of the week students will complete a different task based on the math facts they are currently practicing.

Students will know that numbers that are not rational are called irrational. Understand informally that every number has a decimal expansion; for rational numbers show that the decimal expansion repeats eventually, and convert a decimal expansion which repeats eventually into a rational number.

Paperless Watch, Think, Color for Google Slides!

In this digital version of the game, students WATCH the cards, THINK about the clues to figure out the number, and drag the correct COLOR onto the spot indicated. When they are finished, they have made a picture.

This is a free activity to remember 9-11. The finished design is an American Flag. The skill is number sense to 120. I have many other designs in other skills such as place value, counting coins, expanded notation, reading number words, multiplication, division, and more!
