Students will sort different number sentences into true or false categories. It aligns with the First Grade National Common Core Standards for Math. It includes a recording worksheet and also has the Common Core Standard listed. This was 1 game that I created from a big set you can find {HERE}

*Also the number sentences also have some equal signs first to get students seeing that more too, as a request of 3rd grade teachers in my district 🙂

I woke up in a funk the other morning so I pulled the covers over my head trying to go back to sleep. As I began to doze, my dog stuck her head under the sheet and I felt her cold nose on my leg. I knew that trying to stay in bed was futile, so I threw on some clothes and took her outside feeling frustrated and annoyed. As we began walking, the pain in my knee and heel started to subside and the phrase, attitude of gratitude came into my head as I realized how lucky I am to be able to walk, others aren’t so fortunate.

I use it to practice reading, listening, speaking…prepositions of place, going to, vocabulary about nature and environment… from 1st to 5th grade (ESL learners).

It is Black and white to print it and hand out.

I listen to the story on youtube (told by its author) or I read it aloud, then we sing a song (plenty of them on youtube). After that we do some crafts, writing (changing the animal or what they find along the way)…
