The focus of the tasks in this collection is on third grade multiplication concepts. While solving these complex word problems, students will practice their ability to:
- Use the commutative property of multiplication, associative property of multiplication, and distributive property of multiplication to solve multiplication equations and justify their accuracy.
- Represent multiplication problems using equations with a letter standing for the unknown quantity.
- Determine the unknown whole number in a multiplication equation relating three whole numbers.
- Use multiplication within 100 to solve word problems.
- Interpret products of whole numbers, and write scenarios in which products of whole numbers are used.
