Tell us about yourself.

My name is Kris McWilliams, I am a certified K-5th Grade teacher in Georgia, but I am currently living in Germany.  My husband recently retired after 23 years in the Army and we decided to move to Germany for an employment opportunity.  I have taught both 4th and 5th Grade, currently I am working as a substitute K-5th Grade teacher at the Dodea school on post and I also work part time teaching adults through a continuing education program.

I have been creating products for teachers since 2013.  I have a background in digital design and love combining my love of teaching with creating digital designs!

What do you like best about teaching?

My favorite part about teaching is when I witness a student having that “lightbulb moment”.  Seeing a child finally grasp a concept makes me remember why I got into teaching in the first place!

Describe your favorite TpT product.

My favorite TpT product is probably my Book Clubs Elementary Starter Set.  This was the first TpT product I created.

What advice would you give to someone who may want to become a seller at Teachers Pay Teachers?

Take your time creating products.  It’s easy to get excited about a product and rush to put it on your store.  I sometimes have to tell myself to slow down and make sure that I am creating the best possible product for my buyers.

What have you done or hope to do with your TpT earnings?

When I am teaching full-time, my TpT earning usually go right back into my classroom!  Right now, I save up my earning to use on travel while we are living overseas.

What do you like best about being a member of The Best of Teacher Entrepreneurs Marketing Cooperative?

TBOTEMC gives great support to its members!  Victoria Leon is quick to get back to her members to answer questions and offer support!

Hamlet Unit No prep

Product Description
NEW: You can now download this unit in Word format to customize and save it. All documents are available in PDF and Word formats.

One entire month of planning done for you – I dare you to enjoy Shakespeare.

I love teaching Shakespeare’s plays, and I want you to love it too. I’ve been teaching and improving this unit for over ten years. All of the thinking has been done for you. I love annotating my plays and books. I’ve taken all of the annotations made in my play over the years and incorporated them in a guide to help you guide students and help students understand. Many people (including teachers) get overwhelmed with Shakespeare because of the language. This unit has been created with the student in mind. The activities are thorough, but simple enough for students to understand and enjoy the play.

This unit has everything a teacher needs to teach Hamlet. Just photocopy and teach. Seriously it’s that easy. There’s no longer a need for hours of research and piecing together bits of information and activity sheets you don’t know what to do with.

This is a whole, complete unit, from scene summaries, important notes and annotations notes to help students understand what they are reading. I have also included an introduction to the play, a student guide, a teacher guide with detailed lesson plans, quizzes, a creative assignment, and tests (all with answers and evaluation grids), and a comprehensive answer key. Everything has its place and teaches a specific skill.

The unit is appropriate for students in grades 10, 11 and 12.

The unit includes :

– An attractive, interactive, multimedia PowerPoint presentation introducing the play (17 slides)

-A Student Study Guide (with activities, Act, and scene questions…) and various activities (14 pages)

-A Teacher Guide (with detailed, comprehensive lessons, unit plan, and additional notes to guide students.) -9 pages and 16 complete lessons. The teacher Guide also includes links to the audiobook (the exact time to cue the audio), AND it includes a list of speaking roles if reading out loud in class)to help with time management and organization.

-18 pages of comprehensive scene summaries and important notes for each scene (annotations for each scene)***THIS IS A TEACHER FAVORITE!

A creative Hamlet Guess Who? Game to help students understand the characters. (What’s fun about this game is that it can be played from the beginning of the play right to the end, and students’ answers will change depending on the act they are reading.) LOTS OF FUN!

-A comprehensive answer key for all questions and activities. (24 pages)

-Comprehension quiz on Acts 1 and 2 in Word format for easy modifications (with evaluation grid) and answer key.

-Mid-play evaluation – The Parody – creative writing and analysis (in Word format for easy modifications – with evaluation grid)

-Summary guide (highlighting the significant events from each scene with important analytical information) – Throughout my years of teaching this play, I have amounted excellent notes and annotations, listing the most significant actions throughout each scene. I have retyped these annotations to help you teach the play, so your students will understand it (and so will you). (18 pages)

-The culminating evaluation includes three different versions of the final unit test with evaluation grid and answer key (in Word for easy modifications)

Includes a total of 109 pages.

If you want to get your students to think about the world around them and understand that everyone in the world has the same rights, but not everyone actually gets those rights, this is the unit to do this. Using explanatory writing as the genre of writing, students learn about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, while learning how to write different explanatory writing formats. This unit includes links to required media, a teach guide (with 21-day timeline) and a student book to get you started. The final assessment questions are also provided. Rubric/success criteria are to be developed with the class (I do not provide rubrics because of the differences in curriculum).

Hello from North Carolina!  First, let me thank you for taking time to learn about me.  Below are just a few tidbits about me and my life.

Tell us about yourself.

I’ve worked with Special Pre-K through 8th grade over the past 8 years with the past 2 years teaching in Middle School (6-8 math and science) in North Carolina. Other experience includes ~ Student teaching in 1st grade, 10+ years experience as a Designer, and 15+ years experience in Management.  The experience I’ve enjoyed the most has been teaching and seeing my students succeed.

Being a mom, teacher, and licensed educator has assisted me to find various ways to reach students so they understand what they are learning!

What do you like best about teaching?

I enjoy creating tiered lessons for students of all levels to learn a task while working collaboratively. Captivating student’s interest is the first step in teaching any task.  By incorporating my creativity, I’ve found many students become more engaged in lessons while meeting standards set in the educational field.

Describe your favorite TpT product.FractionsBundleImageTboat

My favorite TpT product is the ‘Fractions {50 pages ~ complete Bundle of Activities, Tasks, & More!}’ because it offers handouts, printables, graphic organizers, number lines, circles, task cards, challenge games, hands on student centered lessons with art, and team building all in one package! This bundle I utilized in a 5th grade classroom. My principal loved my ‘puzzle fraction activity’ that is also included in this package. You can get it here ~ Moore Resources Fraction Bundle.

What advice would you give to someone who may want to become a seller at Teachers Pay Teachers?

I am new to Teachers pay Teachers and the social media. Therefore, it is hard to offer advice at this point since I’m still learning. I would say it does take a lot of time and effort, yet, it is worth it posting and sharing lessons and materials you’ve created and used in a classroom for students! The best part so far is sharing far and wide excellent resources for students to learn! If I can help teachers and students, that is fabulous and the main reason I’m creating and posting my lessons.

What do you like best about being a member of The Best of Teacher Entrepreneurs Marketing Cooperative?

I have to say that I was very nervous at first joining ‘The Best of Teacher Entrepreneurs Marketing Cooperative’ and skeptical, yet, I am learning so much and enjoying the experience! This is a great group of professionals working together to assist educators and students that I am excited to be a part of! I am looking forward to a great year working with the ‘best of the best’!

Tell us about yourself.

I will start my 8th year of teaching in the fall. All of those years have been in 4th grade. I love those kiddos! In addition to teaching, blogging, and making products for TpT, I love to cook, sew, and garden. Find out more about me on my About Me page.

What do you like best about teaching?

I love the look in the eyes of a kid who finally “gets it.” I also love investing in the kids and believing that they can be great, even if they don’t believe it.

Grading Rubrics for All OccasionsDescribe your favorite TpT product.

My favorite product is Grading Rubrics for Every Occasion (3rd-5th grade). I love this product because you can use it to grade so many different things! It is such a great tool to use, especially when you have a huge pile of grading and the end of the quarter is creeping up…

It includes 14 easy-to-use rubrics on everything from interactive notebooks, to presentations, to science projects. There are also 4 self-evaluations for students to fill out. Each rubric comes in 4 point or 5 point scales, and also in full or half sheet printables.

What advice would you give to someone who may want to become a seller at Teachers Pay Teachers?

Be patient. This is not something that happens overnight. It takes a long time, but it is so rewarding. The feeling that you get when you help a student learn–that’s the same feeling you get when you create a great product that helps other students learn all over the world! Hang in there!

What have you done or hope to do with your TpT earnings?

Because of TpT I am able to teach part-time. This way I am able to stay home a few more days each week with my two precious kids!

What do you like best about being a member of The Best of Teacher Entrepreneurs Marketing Cooperative?

The sellers that are a part of the cooperative are so encouraging and supportive. The cooperation between these people is amazing!
