How to use this back to school kindergarten book and activities:

  • Whole Group Read Aloud – Grab a copy of the picture book to read aloud to your students. Select a printable response activity to complete as an interactive writing task or choose a different activity for word work practice.
  • QR Code Listening Center – Add a copy of the book with a CD, or a device for scanning the QR code, to your listening center. Students listen to the story and complete the response sheet independently.
  • Sub Plans – Print the activities and leave a copy of the book with your substitute lesson plans. Super easy to prep and great practice for anytime throughout the year.
  • Parent Volunteer/Instructional Aide Activity – Have them take a small group and read the book. Then, students can respond with one of the printable activities.
  • Home Study – If you have a student who is on home study or is taking an extended trip, you can easily send these response pages with the QR code along with them.

Listening Centers are a great way to expose students to vocabulary and book skills. Students will love scanning the QR code and listening to the story during listening centers. There is a QR code on each printable response sheet that is linked to a read aloud video of the book on YouTube.

Halloween literacy practice has never been more fun! To play this literacy center game, students pick a pumpkin letter card and say its sound.

After saying their letter sound, students find the matching picture on the game board that starts with that beginning sound and cover it up with your choice of token. Candy corn and seasonal mini erasers add to the Halloween fun! Keep playing until the entire board is filled.

Print game boards and cards, one set per person. Cut apart cards. This is an individual game. It can be played in partners as a collaborative game, but there are no winners or losers. Very easy prep for an interactive game!

Extension page included to practice writing the beginning sound of Halloween words. Happy Halloween!

Fall season, Pumpkin shapes puzzle game activity for kids in black and white for the classroom or at home for young learners.

Kids match the two pieces of the puzzle to complete the shape. Include 8 shapes inside the pumpkins: circle, triangle, square, rectangle, heart, diamond, ellipse, and semicircle. Also includes worksheets with pasting and coloring activity.

  • Downloaded PDF file, ready to print Piece Size: 1.5X2.6 inch.
  • Recommended printing on cardboard, thick paper, or laminate for long use.
  • Each image can be cut into 4 pieces for an extra challenge.
  • You can also use the pieces to play memory games. Place all pieces face down and flip over 2 to make a match. If a match is made, remove those pieces.

Halloween Graphing Page

Witch’s Hat

These Halloween pages may be used to graph anything.

The idea is to choose a HAT for the witch.

Name each (or as many as you need) of the hats and then use for any activity.

e.g. preschoolers can color each of the hats a different color, then look for objects around the room in that color. Fill in one space for each of them to decide what hat the witch will wear (the one with the most objects in this color 🙂 )

These Halloween worksheets were originally created for an incredibly fun game. It includes paper hat, rings that we throw at them and fill in the chart to decide on the hat.

On each of the hats there is something that we read (word, number, letter, etc.)

As a teacher, we all know the importance of keeping an organized parent communication log. Well with this FREE individual student log you will have quick access to parent/ guardian phone #’s, dates you conferenced with parents, a record of the person contacted, and any comments about the meeting. This FREE, low prep, Doubles, I have, Who has…?” Card Game is a fantastic resource for students learning doubles to practice the skill of doubling numbers. There are 12 cards in the pack going up to number 24. It can be played in a small group and is a wonderful fun way for students to learn and memorise double facts. It also works well as an assessment tool, as educators can observe students playing to ascertain whether they have developed the skill.

How to prep the product?

  • Print cards and laminate

How to use the product?

  • Hand cards out to students – they can be seated at desks on carpet, in a circle. The game can be played in very small groups with students having multiple cards.
  • The student with the starred START card begins by reading his card. The other students have to identify if they have the answer, and if they do they say “I have…(the answer), who has…double ? (listed on card). The game works in a round with every child getting to play that has a card.
