Frankenstein Unit (No prep)

Product Description

FRANKENSTEIN UNIT – Complete with no prep for you.

This unit is created using the 1831 edition of the novel.

This unit has been created with the teacher in mind. The material is geared toward senior students with a focus on the construction of arguments. It also teaches the importance of historical context as well as literary allusions in the development of themes.

I am a strong believer that when students work with a specific purpose in mind, they become better learners. That’s why my units contain only quality and worth-while activities. You will find no busy work here. Every lesson focuses on teaching students analytical and essay writing skills.

All of the thinking and planning are done for you. The lesson plans are detailed and comprehensive. The student guide is visually appealing, and so the teacher put efforts where they need to be. The answer key is complete and detailed. All you need to do is to purchase this unit and photocopy it.

Evaluating a Fish bowl Activity in a Literature Circle

Product Description

The Fishbowl activity is mostly useful during literature circles or in a novel study. Quite literally, the group in the center is being watched by the rest of the class, while they are discussing elements of fiction. This activity is a very important tool in order to teach students how group discussions should run, what is to be said, and how it is to be said. Many times the leader of the discussion doesn’t know how to prompt members to elaborate upon their contributions. This will certainly help.

In addition, it is often difficult for a teacher to evaluate these discussions, which is the reason I have created this package. It is easy to use and you can merely check boxes to quickly assess each member of the groups.

This package contains:
• An explanation of The Fishbowl Activity
• How to run a Fishbowl Activity (within the realm of a literature circle)
• Why such an activity is important
• Evaluation sheets one can use to easily evaluate the discussions and roles of students

FREE MISC. LESSON – “The Lantern – Reduce Tattling With This Classroom Management FREEBIE”

by Core Inspiration by Laura Santos

Pre-Kindergarten – 2nd Grade

One of our challenges as teachers is to help students learn the difference between tattling and reporting. Often, students who tattle simply need an outlet to be heard. Rather than spending time after recess sorting through playground woes, have students record their concerns on a piece of paper and place it in The Lantern.

This management tool invites students to write or draw about their concern rather than sharing with you verbally, giving you time to address playground issues at an appropriate time.

This FREEBIE includes:
– Tips for setting up The Lantern in your classroom.
– Printable posters to cozy up The Lantern nook in your classroom.
– Link to my blog post about using The Lantern in my elementary classroom.

FREE MATH LESSON – “Valentine Village”

by Ashleigh

2nd – 5th Grade

Have a little fraction fun with this Valentine’s activity! This is similar to my Fraction Avenue, but it has a Valentine’s twist. Students decorate a “Valentine Village” using fractions. There are two versions of this activity to allow for easy differentiation. In one version, students model basic fractions, and in the second version, students must model equivalent fractions.
