This is a set of four high-resolution photographs of petroglyphs found near Arches National Park, Utah. I guarantee that they were taken by me and that they may be used commercially without worry about violating copyright.

Due to file size of the actual photos, the thumbnails show details from the photos but not the full photo.

You may use these photographs in any product (including interactive whiteboard products) so long as you provide a link to my store (which is included in the file). I would appreciate you using the button logo (provided in the file), but it’s not required.

You may not provide this digital file to any other person. All downloads of the photographs must come from this website alone.

End of Year Reflection: Dear Next Year’s Class. Provide your students with the opportunity to reflect upon how they have grown through the year. Encourage your students to reflect upon their year and personal successes and highlights, with this fun project! By writing letters for the incoming class (or creating a reference booklet by stapling all of their letters together) students take time to really think about the year. It’s a great opportunity to encourage conversation and reflection and next year’s class will love it too!

Getting Your Students to Follow Directions by Taking a Funny Test

If your students are anything like my students, then they have a hard time following directions.

So I created this funny little test on following directions.

There are 30 tasks that they must do…but if they read correctly, then they really only have a couple of tasks to do.

● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ●
What happens in my classroom is that one or two students actually read and follow the directions correctly, while the rest of the students are doing funny things like yelling, “Old MacDonald had a farm” and standing up and turning around. The students who followed the directions are laughing hysterically at the other students.

It is so much fun! It also really enforces the importance of following directions.

Equivalent Expressions Partnering Cards:
(part of the Equivalent Expressions Mini-Bundle)

These partnering cards are a quick way for students to pair up, while also practicing identifying equivalent expressions. Great for review throughout the year! (They could also be used as a matching game!)

There are 18 sets of cards, so they can be used with classes of up to 36 students. There is a set with a background and a set without, to give you an option when you print.

I would recommend printing on card stock and laminating (although I cut them out and glued them to index cards the first time I used them:) – I needed to use them before I could laminate!)

Product Description

Group work is always tricky to evaluate because there is so much going on. In addition, as educators, we are required to give detailed feedback on students’ performances.

I created this FREE document to make the teacher’s job easier, and to allow students to be responsible for their success as well.

Self-evaluation grids are a great way to guide students in their evaluations. Students will know exactly what is expected of them and will be made responsible for their success. This package can also easily be changed to be used as peer evaluations.

This self-evaluation grid will help students as well as teachers to assess students’ group work. When students use this grid to assess their work, there are no surprises when they receive their final mark. This grid, in particular, allows the students to become organized and responsible for their individual parts.

These self-evaluation grids are also very helpful to teachers:
 Helps the teacher justify the final mark;
 Helps to identify students’ weaknesses and strengths;
 Helps parents and students better understand the task required;
 Helps teachers create rubrics for the final evaluation.

Because of formatting issues, this package was created in a PDF document, but I can easily email you a Word file to be easily modified and changed according to the individual teacher’s needs.

The Spelling Flip Book is designed to help young learners become familiar with spelling rules and to incorporate them into their work.

Students can color and personalize their flip books to enhance the spelling learning experience.

I always like encouraging my students to use their flip books as reference sheets when they are working to promote good spelling habits. The goal is that eventually, by using the flip book when working, the student will begin to remember common errors made in the past and correct them. I have had much success with this strategy in my classes.

I’ve also included a color copy and an answer key – a total of 18 pages.

This yearbook timeline includes specific assignments, deadlines, homework, and what needs to be scheduled or submitted when. It also gives a breakdown of various assignments to various roles, including editor-in-chief, section editor, and staff members.

What tools can be used to enrich the grade-level curriculum and challenge our students? 

A menu is a content-focused set of options from which students choose activities and tasks on which to work. Students can receive a menu for a specific time-period, such as a week, for a unit of study, or for a grading cycle. Menus provide instant opportunities for differentiation because students choose which activities they would like to complete based on their own interests and ability levels.

This free resource pack includes one choice board menu related to whole number operations. To complete this board, students will need to complete all of the activities in a row, column, diagonal, or the four corners. The pack also includes additional materials needed to complete the board, including a Cover Up game, a tiling task (with reproducible tiles), detailed directions and materials for product creation, recording sheets, project templates, and a “Free Choice” proposal form.

This essay describes a part of one simple project enacted by a town and the beauty and the power of music as the connecting agent.
