FREE MISC. LESSON – “Social Emotional Learning Character Education Anti-Bullying| FREEBIE”

by The Fun Factory

Pre-Kindergarten – 12th Grade

This resource is a “Forever Freebie” and is a SAMPLER of a larger resource. There is an original song about being unique.

There are suggestions given for how to use the cards, activities, and examples.

For Complete Resource:
✌ Social-Emotional~Character Education~Anti-Bullying~Quote Cards and Activities
Character Education Cards

Related Resources:
✌ Glyph for Character Education or Social-Emotional Traits~Anti-Bullying

Teaching with the quote cards helps students develop positive peer interactions and encourages them to do their best by acknowledging their efforts and strengths. They learn solutions to real-life problems and are taught ways to encourage others and themselves through positive self-talk.

Young children need emotional training and must be coached with words to use as they learn coping skills, learn how to solve their conflicts without anger and learn how to work and play with other children without fighting. Therefore, this resource can be used with very young children as well as upper elementary.

According to Daniel Goleman, childhood is “a special window of opportunity for shaping children’s emotional habits.” We must help children recognize and understand their emotions and the emotions of others. If children learn to persevere and accept mistakes as a natural part of learning, they will be better able to control themselves and handle their frustrations in positive ways.

FREE MISC. LESSON – “Funny Following Directions Test”

by Southern Fried Teachin

4th – 6th Grade

Getting Your Students to Follow Directions by Taking a Funny Test

If your students are anything like my students, then they have a hard time following directions.

So I created this funny little test on following directions.

There are 30 tasks that they must do…but if they read correctly, then they really only have a couple of tasks to do.

● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ●
What happens in my classroom is that one or two students actually read and follow the directions correctly, while the rest of the students are doing funny things like yelling, “Old MacDonald had a farm” and standing up and turning around. The students who followed the directions are laughing hysterically at the other students.

It is so much fun! It also really enforces the importance of following directions.

Try it in your classroom and let me know how it goes!

Looking for that perfect “POP” to your TpT product? See if some of these backgrounds will work for you and your latest TpT products. Each background is a vector illustration, in PNG, 300dpi format. These graphics fit perfectly on a 8.5 X 11 digital paper.

Included in this package:
-6 different digital papers

This zip file contains PNG and PDFs only. If you are having problems opening this zip file, please take a look at this first (Zip File Help). If you are still having problems, don’t hesitate to e-mail me at sciencegirllessons@gmail.com.

FREE MATH LESSON – “Partnering Cards Using Equivalent Expressions”

by Cognitive Cardio with Middle School Math Moments

5th – 7th Grade

Equivalent Expressions Partnering Cards:
(part of the Equivalent Expressions Mini-Bundle)

These partnering cards are a quick way for students to pair up, while also practicing identifying equivalent expressions. Great for review throughout the year! (They could also be used as a matching game!)

There are 18 sets of cards, so they can be used with classes of up to 36 students. There is a set with a background and a set without, to give you an option when you print.

I would recommend printing on card stock and laminating (although I cut them out and glued them to index cards the first time I used them:) – I needed to use them before I could laminate!)

Common Core Math Standard 6.EE.A.3

Free Group and Skit Evaluation Rubric

https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Group-and-Skit-Evaluation-Rubric-699937

Group and Skit Evaluation Rubric

Product Description

Group work is always tricky to evaluate because there is so much going on. In addition, as educators, we are required to give detailed feedback on students’ performances.

I created this FREE document to make the teacher’s job easier, and to allow students to be responsible for their success as well.

Self-evaluation grids are a great way to guide students in their evaluations. Students will know exactly what is expected of them and will be made responsible for their success. This package can also easily be changed to be used as peer evaluations.

This self-evaluation grid will help students as well as teachers to assess students’ group work. When students use this grid to assess their work, there are no surprises when they receive their final mark. This grid, in particular, allows the students to become organized and responsible for their individual parts.

These self-evaluation grids are also very helpful to teachers:
 Helps the teacher justify the final mark;
 Helps to identify students’ weaknesses and strengths;
 Helps parents and students better understand the task required;
 Helps teachers create rubrics for the final evaluation.

Because of formatting issues, this package was created in a PDF document, but I can easily email you a Word file to be easily modified and changed according to the individual teacher’s needs.

It’s teaching made easy!

Spelling Flip Book

https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Spelling-Flip-Book-3019606

Spelling Flip Book

Product Description

The Spelling Flip Book is designed to help young learners become familiar with spelling rules and to incorporate them into their work.

Students can color and personalize their flip books to enhance the spelling learning experience.

I always like encouraging my students to use their flip books as reference sheets when they are working to promote good spelling habits. The goal is that eventually, by using the flip book when working, the student will begin to remember common errors made in the past and correct them. I have had much success with this strategy in my classes.

I’ve also included a color copy and an answer key – a total of 18 pages.

FREE MATH LESSON – “Percent of a Number Escape Room Activity – FREE CHALLENGE”

by Lindsay Perro

6th – 8th Grade

This activity is a FREE sample challenge to give you a look inside the Math Escapes line of resources.

Students will be given 10 percent problems to solve. They will locate the card in the envelope that contains their answer and lay it on top of the question on the challenge page. When finished, they will need to preform the indicated operation(s) with their answers in order to reveal the code.

Also included is a hint card, envelope label and answer key.

About Math Escapes :
Math Escapes provide students with a collaborative way to review math skills. Each escape includes eight challenges that require students to use specific skills to find codes that will unlock each puzzle.

What makes Math Escapes different?
Math Escapes do not require the challenges to be completed in any particular order. In order for students to “escape” they simply have to find all 8 codes. This allows for (a) differentiation, (b) removal of challenges for time and (c) the ability for you to only make one copy of each challenge because as groups finish one challenge their next one can be whatever is available.

What is included in each Math Escape activity?
⇢ CCSS and TEKS standard alignment
⇢ Four pages of escape directions
⇢ A digital lock option
⇢ Links to locks/boxes to purchase
⇢ An “unpacking” video where I walk you through prep and setup
⇢ Detailed puzzle teacher information
⇢ 8 challenges with prep instructions and materials
⇢ Hint cards for each challenge (PDF format and EDITABLE PPT format)
⇢ Group code sheet
⇢ Student workbook
⇢ Photos that show each challenge prepped
⇢ End of escape signs and a sign template
⇢ Prize ideas
⇢ Answer keys

Materials Needed
You do not need to spend money on locks and boxes (although that option and links to materials are included). You can simply use manila folders or the included digital lock.
